Today we have a double post! No, I didn’t do two workouts today, but rather a workout last night, and one this morning.

I did X3 Accelerator last night as soon as I got home from work, then as soon as I was done, I had to run out again, so I didn’t have a chance to post a blog. I really enjoy this one, and I always forget how much I like this one because it shows up so infrequently in the rotation. You do each move for a minute, and you vary the speed. None of the moves are too intense in and of themselves, but when you’re changing speeds, and adding the all together, you’ve suddenly burned 409 calories in 32 minutes.

I was hoping to do this one outside as well, but yesterday was about 90 degrees and humidity was up in the 80s, so I kept it inside.

Since I have some extra time this morning before I have to head to work, I decided to go ahead and knock out today’s X3 CVX workout as well.

I have a very love/hate relationship with this one. Again, each move is a minute, and you’re doing plyo moves…but plyo moves with weights in your hand. After the first six minutes, I can’t wait for it to be done, but I keep pushing…if only to beat Lauren, the modifier. She shows up in a couple of the X3 videos and — I’m sure she’s a great person in real life — she just drives me crazy. With her smug modifications.

Anyway, if I thought yesterday’s Accelerator got it done in 30 minutes, CVX knocked it out of the park. 471 calories in 35 minutes, and I had an average heart rate of 148bpm!

I can’t believe my recovery/transition week is nearly done — and I can’t believe I’ve been doing this hybrid program of mine for a month already!

Tomorrow will see some X3 Agility X, and maybe a bonus makeup workout of X2 Balance + Power, depending on how much time I have.
